Road Trip
Ten15 was a collaborative labor of love I started that lasted for almost 2 years.
At 10:15 am every day, we asked people to take a photo of whatever it was they were doing wherever they were doing it.
Although it was only built using a simple wordpress template, it grew into a really diverse community. It was interesting to see the trends and patterns that developed as well as the cross global photographic conversations.
I still hope to get it back up and running. This new design, which encourages more community interaction and expands into video and text entries, awaits in the wings.
01HUNDRED DAYS
After being live for 100 days, the photos were published in a calendar format. When you click on a day, you get a mosaic of what was happening around the world at 10:15 am.
THE GMT PROJECT
On some days, we'd put out a call to action to the community and create theme days. For example, we'd ask for self portraits, or photos of something red.
One of my favorite theme days was on 10/15/08. We did the GMT project where we asked everyone in the community to take a photo at 10:15 am GMT time. We wanted to catch one minute in the world.
TEN15 VOTE
And what's better than 10:15 am? Throwing in a 10:15 pm. With the hoopla of elections, we wanted to do a TEN15 vote day. For this we asked people to shoot a 10:15 a.m. and p.m. to reveal what they were doing as the big day was going down.
BUTTON PACKAGING
We invited different designers to create ten15 buttons.
Part of the new site design includes a full photo intro page that shows the most recently uploaded 10:15 image.
